We should never measure our relationship with God based on a few scriptures out of the Bible, we should however base our relationship with Him based on the whole entirety of his word.
Many times we pick a scripture or a chapter or book in the Bible and think oooh that's me or this is something I need to stop doing, but we neglect the whole word. Just like in a relationship we pick the things we think need fixing and forget the rest.
