Morning Thoughts...Time with the Lord

Updated: Dec 28, 2020

Did you know the Holy Scriptures, (The Bible) was not written for the unbeliever, sinner, or unjust, they wouldn't be able to understand the spiritual nature of it without God. For them to pick it up and read it, it is an honor and privileged, and God willing, a road map leading to salvation. Matthew 3:1- 2, 5-8 "In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan, And were baptized of him in Jordan confessing their sins. But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth, therefore, fruits fitting for repentance:

The Holy Scriptures (The Holy Bible) was written for the children of God. Those who accepted Jesus in their hearts believe Him as their personal Savior and the Son of God.

It's written to connect us more with the Father. To know His history and our history in him through His son Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit reminds us of all His truths and promises.

Paul writes it like this in 2 Timothy 3:14-17 But continue thou in the things which thou has learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God (God-breathed) and is profitable for doctrine (teaching), for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect (complete), thoroughly (entirely) furnished unto all good works.

Fellow believers, children of God, we cannot continue to allow ourselves to get caught up in the affairs of the world. Colossians 3:1-4 If ye then be risen with Christ, see those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God, Set your affections (mind) on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hind with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory.

It is time to return to our first love. Revelation 2: 2-5 I know thy works, and thy labor, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear (endure) them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles and are not, and hast found them, liars: And hast endured and hast patience (perseverance), and for My name's sake hast labored, and hast not fainted (grown weary). Nevertheless, I have something against thee because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from where thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick (lampstand) out of its place unless thou repent. 2 Chronicles 7:14-22 If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land...

We start out running the race set before us at a good pace. Then we allow the hardships of life and the troubles that come with being in this world to distract us from the promises of eternal life. Hebrews 12:1-3 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed (surrounded) about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which does easily beset us, and let us run with patience (endurance) the race that is set before us,...

Galatians 5:7-17 asks the questions of what snuck into our lives and hindered us from living according to God's word. What distractions have we allowed to take the place of God? What outside influences plugged up your ears so that you wouldn't hear the truth and obey? What false gods/idols have we let slip in unaware? Even now, God is speaking, but what will distract you from hearing? Pride. Indecision. Losing a foothold in this world. Wealth. What vice(s) is keeping/hindering you. "Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? This persuasion (deception) comes not from Him that calls you. ...

Well, thank you for joining me in my morning time with the Lord.
